Saturday, December 28th
We will meet from 3PM in lovely Frau Mayer, a bar entirely dedicated to acoustic live music and jamming culture. They offer food and drink and a chilled-out atmosphere (well, at least before it will become very busy later in the evening).
---
From about 7pm, evening action starts:
There will be a triple concert at Frau Mayer, featuring concerts of Bennett Konesni (USA / 6:45pm), Carob (FR / 8pm) and Odysseas, Stoney & Friends (GR&A / 9:30pm).
After that, Frau Mayer will mutate into the session space it's so beloved for - it will only close at 2pm.
At Aera, another well-known live music club nearby, there will be a little semi-acoustic ball with Pieds de Biche, Trio Toxico and a little dance session afterwards, till about 11:30pm.
Two more bars in the neighbourhood will accommodate us for playing sessions: An Irish / Celtic Session at Cafe Wilheim (from 19:00) and there's an open session space at Veggiezz. The latter is also your place to be if you want to get nice vegan food and a quiet chat with friends you haven't seen for some time, while Cafe Wilheim offers fantastic cakes and cocktails.
We will be as close to the historical center as never again during Folk Marathon. If you arrive earlier, use your time for a nice city walk, stroll around St. Stephen's Cathedral, Michaelerplatz, Ruprechtskirche or Freyung.
About this quarter: Apart from its political significance, until the 19th century, Vienna actually used to be quite small -- inside its city wall (now the famous "Ringstraße") it only covered an area of a couple of square kilometres. This is now Vienna's first district, "innere Stadt", and it's there that we will meet on that very evening.
