Daytime

We will meet from 3PM in lovely Frau Mayer, a bar entirely dedicated to acoustic live music and jamming culture. They offer food and drink and a chilled-out atmosphere (well, at least before it will become very busy later in the evening).

---

Evening

Evening action starts around 7pm: There will be a triple concert at Frau Mayer, featuring Bennett Konesni (USA), Carob (FR) and Odysseas, Stoney & Friends (GR&A). After that concert, at around 11pm, Frau Mayer will mutate into the session space it's so beloved for - it will only close at 2pm.

Meanwhile, in Aera, another well-known live music club nearby, there will be a little semi-acoustic ball with trad. music by the groups Pieds de Biche (F) and Trio Toxico (AT/UK) and a little dance session afterwards, until about 11:30pm. Entry is free, donations are welcome.

Two more bars in the neighbourhood will accommodate us for playing sessions, also from about 7pm: An Irish / Celtic Session at Cafe Wilheim (from 19:00) and an open session space at Veggiezz.

Food:
Veggiezz is also your place to be if you want to get nice vegan food and a quiet chat with friends you haven't seen for some time, while Cafe Wilheim offers fantastic cakes (and cocktails). Also, the food at Frau Mayer is recommendable, only the waiting time might be very long when it's crowded.

About this neighbourhood

Until 19th century, Vienna actually used to be quite small -- inside its city walls (now the famous "Ringstraße"), which were only torn down around 1830, the historical Vienna just covered an area of a couple of square kilometres: This is now Vienna's first district, "innere Stadt", and it's here that this year's Folk Marathon starts.

If you arrive earlier, use your time for a nice little walk in the city center, stroll around St. Stephen's Cathedral, Michaelerplatz, Ruprechtskirche or Freyung.
