Saturday, December 28th
We will meet from 3PM in lovely Frau Mayer, which has a great reputation for being a session venue. They offer food and drink and a chilled-out atmosphere (well, at least before it becomes busy in the evening).
---
From 7pm, action starts. We will have some fun and action at Frau Mayer, a bar dedicated to acoustic live music and jamming culture, at Aera, another well-known live music club nearby where we will have some dancing space, and two more bars nearby - Cafe Wilheim and Veggiezz - which will accommodate us for playing sessions. The session at Wilheim will be mainly Irish/Celtic, the one at Veggiezz is open for anything. Veggiezz is also a good place if you want to have nice vegan food and a quiet chat with friends you haven't seen for some time.
We will be as close to the historical center as never again during Folk Marathon (if you arrive earlier, use your time for a nice city walk)!
About this quarter: Apart from its political significance, until the 19th century, Vienna actually used to be quite small -- inside its city wall (now the famous "Ringstraße") it only covered an area of a couple of square kilometres. This is now Vienna's first district, "innere Stadt", and it's there that we will meet on that very evening.
