On this evening, the Folk Marathon will be happening in four different music clubs, which are all a vital part of the "Gürtel" scene. Our headquarters, Fanialive, will host a dancing evening, featuring
Coco bar will mainly be the right venue for rather smooth, quiet dancing. In another bar, Loop, you will find some great concert performances and, finally, Cafe Concerto offers enough space for mighty jams.
The Gürtel ("belt") is not only one of Vienna's largest, longest and most busy streets. It's also of historical significance, as it used to be the border between the inner districts and the outer ones, which only became a part of Vienna in 1892.
For a good part, the metro line U6, the former "Stadtbahn", follows this original outer city wall and gives an impressive appearance.. Its viaduct structures and some of the stations do not only have architectonical relevance, they also are now very often home to a lively club scene.
