More about the band:
Pietro Ariotti, an Italian accordionist from Alessandria, has a rich background in jazz and composition. Dedicated to mastering traditional music and dances primarily from Northern Italy, he also enjoys exploring connections with dance, theater, and diverse folk music genres. Currently studying jazz accordion at the Teramo Conservatory, he is a member of the renowned band BAILENGA.
Kristina Witzgall is a classically trained violinist from southern Sweden, with roots in jazz, swing and Scandinavian folk music. She is currently based in Munich, Germany, where she works as a recording artist and performer. She is an active member of several ensembles, including the jazz quartet LYCKLIGA and the indie band OH THEIA.
Pietro and Kristina originally met at a Folk Marathon and quickly formed a musical bond over their shared passion for tango. Since then, they have played together on several stages across Europe and now look forward to returning to Folk Marathon together!
